Medical Marijuana - Vaporizers vs. Smoking"

Vaporizing is a new technique when it comes to ingesting medical marijuana. These are little devices that heat the marijuana to a certain temperature without igniting and burning the substance. What happens is the active ingredients in the cannabis actually turn into gas vapors . The vaporizers heat the marijuana while releasing the vapor of THC, MA, etc., without burning the plants fibers. There is no tar, soot, or ash involved. As well, smoke is never created. Instead, the patient simply breathes in the vapor that contains the active ingredients. Many patients use this technique because it is easier than smoking it. Smoking marijuana is not suggested because it does have harsh effects on the throat and lungs, however smoking it induces immediate effects. On the other hand, ingesting medical cannabis through food products can take up to an hour to kick in. Another thing that should be noted is that once the cannabis has been used in the vaporizer, it can be reused for cooking.

There are several mini vaporizers on the market today. Typically they fit in the hand and do take the shape of a cigarette. They are battery operated and most of them are rechargeable. As well, they are very affordable running less than 80$ and coming with extra batteries, charger, and a cleaning kit. They can be traveled with without looking conspicuous and can be used in public places where smoking is banned. In some places where marijuana is a legal form of treatment, vaporizers may be covered on health insurance as well. If a doctor does not provide vaporizers, they can be legally purchased in smoke shops or even from online merchants. They are not considered to be paraphernalia therefore they can be mailed worldwide.

Even though there is no clear connection to smoking marijuana and lung problems, many people find that vaporizers do clear out their lungs and reduces coughing after only a couple of weeks of usage. With that being said, there have been many studies that suggests that the coughing induced from smoking the cannabis actually clears the lungs of particulates which actually cause diseases. It is suggested that the smoke forms a protective lining on the lungs. Regardless of which method a patient implements, medical marijuana clearly is a miracle treatment and possibly even a preventative to cancer. Whether vaporizing or physically smoking it, both methods result in instant effects, therefore both options are viable and only a matter of personal choice.
